About Trek

The Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) and Poon Hill Trek are two of Nepal’s most popular trekking routes, offering a perfect blend of natural beauty, cultural richness, and adventure. These treks take you through the heart of the Annapurna region, showcasing stunning mountain vistas, lush forests, and traditional villages.

The Annapurna Base Camp Trek is a journey to the foot of the majestic Annapurna I, the 10th highest peak in the world. At an altitude of 4,130 meters, the base camp sits in the Annapurna Sanctuary, a natural amphitheater surrounded by towering peaks like Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) and Hiunchuli. The trek begins in Nayapul, near Pokhara, and takes about 7-12 days to complete. Along the way, trekkers pass through rhododendron forests, terraced fields, and traditional Gurung and Magar villages like Chhomrong and Bamboo. The trail is moderate in difficulty, making it suitable for both beginners and experienced trekkers.

The Poon Hill Trek, often combined with the ABC trek, is a shorter and easier route that offers some of the best sunrise views in the Himalayas. Located at 3,210 meters, Poon Hill is famous for its panoramic views of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, and Machhapuchhre. The trek usually starts in Ulleri and passes through Ghorepani, a charming village known for its warm hospitality. The highlight of the trek is the early morning hike to Poon Hill, where the golden sunrise illuminates the snow-capped peaks.

Both treks are best undertaken during the spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November) seasons, when the weather is clear and the trails are vibrant with blooming rhododendrons or golden harvests. These treks also offer cultural immersion, as trekkers interact with local communities, visit ancient monasteries, and experience traditional Nepalese hospitality.

In conclusion, the Annapurna Base Camp and Poon Hill Trek provide an unforgettable Himalayan experience, combining breathtaking landscapes, cultural encounters, and the thrill of adventure. Whether you’re a seasoned trekker or a first-time hiker, these trails promise memories that will last a lifetime.
